What is the best way to get from Miami Airport to Cruise Port?

How will I get to the departure port?
If you choose to make your own air arrangements, you may wish to purchase ground transportation to the ship. Transfers are available for purchase from the arrival airport to the pier on the day of sailing and from the pier to the departure airport on debarkation day only. It is recommended that transfers are purchased two weeks prior to sailing.

Parking Information: Parking is typically available on a first-come, first-served basis at most piers for a minimal fee. The guest parking areas are located adjacent to the piers. Depending on pier location, there are multi-level garages or, flat open-air lots. Parking garages accept cash, Visa, or Mastercard. Flat-level lots are cash only. The fees are $20 per day for regular size vehicles. Rates vary for oversized vehicles.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION: The following requirements are for sailings from a United States port to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada/New England, Hawaii, Alaska, Panama Canal, and Mexico.

United States Citizens:

You MUST have one of the following:

A Valid Passport:

We highly recommend guests to sail with their valid US Passport with 6 months validity past their cruise.

Proof of Citizenship (see below) AND Government-issued photo ID

State certified U.S. birth certificate: (Baptismal paper, hospital certificates of birth, Military identification cards, voter registration cards or Social Security cards and Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/10 are not acceptable.)

Original certificate of U.S. naturalization / Original certificate of U.S. citizenship

Exceptions: Minors under the age of 16 will be able to present either an original government-issued, original, or certified copy of his or her birth certificate; a Consular Report of Birth Abroad Issued by DOA or Certificate of Naturalization issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Non-U.S. Citizens:

ALL GUESTS MUST CARRY A VALID PASSPORT.

All Non-U.S. Citizen Guests Must Carry a Valid Passport, (Not Expiring within 6 Months of Return of Your Cruise).

United States Permanent Residents or Alien Resident Card (ARC) Holders

U.S. Alien Residents holding an Alien Resident Card (ARC), also known as a “Green Card” must be in possession of the ARC in order to sail. U.S. Alien Residents who do not have their ARC with them at check-in will be denied boarding. It is recommended that these guests also carry their passports from their country of citizenship if available.

Canadian Legal Residents:

You MUST have the following:

  • Passport from your home country.

  • Original copy of your Permanent Resident Card (PR Card), formerly the IMM 1000.

  • Multiple entry United States visa (if applicable).

All Other Nationalities:

You MUST have the following:

  • Passport from your home country.

  • Multiple entry United States visa (if applicable).

All Other Nationalities passport holders should contact the Embassy (Consular Services) of each country on your cruise or VisaCentral for specific visa requirements, information, forms, and fees for your nationality.

Norwegian Cruise Line strongly recommends all guests obtain a passport for their cruise vacation for the following reasons: If you miss your ship at its scheduled U.S. departure port and need to travel outside the U.S. to meet your ship. You unexpectedly need to depart the ship from a foreign port prior to the end of sailing, a passport would be required to leave or re-enter the U.S. by air.
